What to expect

On 8 December, join thousands of walkers along an unforgettable 5k or 10k route through the streets of London. We're taking big steps to raise money and help to make sure every family has a warm, safe place to call home.  

Your night will begin at 26 Leake Street near Waterloo Station where you can collect your beanie hat before heading out on the walk. 

As you pass iconic landmarks lit up for Christmas along the River Thames, you'll also be shining a light on something that can’t be ignored—the growing housing emergency that's leaving families without a safe place to call home.  

You'll be surrounded by thousands of like-minded Shelter supporters. Our wheelchair friendly route welcomes everyone, including dogs. Whether you’re walking with family, friends, colleagues or joining solo, come along to spread some festive cheer and make a real difference.

Take in the Christmas lights, soak up the atmosphere and be a part of the fight for home this winter.  We can't wait to see you there!

Your steps can help change lives

Everyone deserves a safe place to call home. By fundraising for Shelter, you'll provide vital advice, defend housing rights and fight for lasting change. 

  • £12 could enable our Legal Team to call a social landlord and put forward a proposal to save a home
  • £37 could pay for an hour of specialist housing casework, helping people facing homelessness and inadequate housing
  • £64 could answer two calls to our helplines in England and Scotland

Your £120 fundraising pledge could help Shelter be there for people when they need us most.
